Since the dawn of human history, jewelry has remained one of the most visible and powerful manifestations of culture. Functioning as a mirror of civilization, jewelry also serves as a personal diary in which dreams, aspiration and influences ate recorded and preserved.

A native New Mexican, Stacie Smith received her Fine Arts degree at the University of New Mexico in 1992. Upon graduation. she worked as a photographer and metalsmith in Taos. In 1997 she embarked on a new journey, returning to school and receiving a Masters degree in Art Education. At that point life lead her to Montana, and she has been creating, as well as teaching in the art department at Bozeman High ever since 2000. It has been her teaching that ultimately has brought a sense of purpose to her life.

I strive to focus on designs that are simple, clever, elegant, and confident. The influences and investigation of nature, rough surfaces, and unexpected designs create new versions of how I come to understand my stories, as well as encourage the strength to seek out my genuine self.
